The Story of Tasoo

Though somewhat Buddhist in origin, the story is one that I believe everyone can identify with: the struggle to protect one’s environment, one’s home, against what seem to be insurmountable odds; the feeling of insignificance and helplessness that threatens to overtake us in moments of great struggle.

This story speaks to the human species and our struggle to preserve the safety and health of our planet. Many people feel discouraged by the overwhelming amount of work that needs to be done, and often end up feeling that our tiny contribution can’t possibly have any affect. The main character of ‘The Story of Tasoo’ perfectly illustrates incredible will and determination based on faith and hope alone, and encourages the viewer to keep forging ahead, no matter how seemingly small the results. The universe conspires to help us.

Tasoo is the quintessential underdog, and illustrates the power of the individual to rise to the occasion and meet his or her destiny as a true hero. It is also an expression of my own personal challenges as an artist (and reluctant graphic artist) and as a human being to find my voice and act with courage on my convictions.

As a director and musician, I have very strong ideas about the soundtrack for the film (the current music for the storyboard is my own composition entitled ‘Song of Compassion’), and I would like to work closely with the composer to maintain and intensify the emotional impact throughout the film.
